Dalton Utilities now has a payment kiosk available for customers to pay their Dalton Utilities and OptiLink bills. The kiosk is at Loa Bakery at 737 Riverbend Road, at the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Riverbend Road.
The payment kiosk, located inside Loa Bakery, will be open for the public’s use seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
At the kiosk, customers may pay their Dalton Utilities and OptiLink bills with cash or credit card. The machine is unable to make change, so any overages will just be credited to the customer’s account to offset their next payment.
The kiosk is equipped with a scanner to read customer account numbers right from the bill to ensure proper crediting of accounts.
“We know a lot of customers want to know how quickly the payment will show in their account,” said Dalton Utilities spokeswoman Lori McDaniel. “Customers will be glad to know that payments made at the kiosk are posted to the account the same day and usually within 30 minutes.”
“Another question is whether or not customers can make late payments at the kiosk, and the answer is yes they can,” continued McDaniel. “That said, if your service is about to be cut off for nonpayment, you must call our office and speak with a representative. That call could be the difference between having to pay a reconnection fee or not.”
The kiosk has a touch screen and English and Spanish options. The kiosk also gives on-screen and spoken instructions. There is no additional fee to use the kiosk. Plus, the kiosk can print receipts for customers’ files that will include the date and time of transaction, amount paid, method of payment and customer account number.
“We know our customers are busy and sometimes have a hard time coming to our office during their workdays,” said McDaniel. “We think the payment kiosk will be very helpful for many of our customers.”
